BATTERY ELECTROLYTE INSPECTION
  • The electrolyte of a battery in service gradually decrease in volume due to evaporation of water content.
  • For transparent case, the level should be always maintained within the upper and lower levels, but for nontransparent case; the leve! should be above the separate plate about 10 ~15mm. Check the electrolyte level is very import tant, if lower, and the distilled water (DO NOT ADD SULFURIC ACID or DRINKING WATER).
  • When the battery is in charged state, its electrolyte has a specific gravity of 1.250 ~1.260 (20deg.C ) but in very cold regions, the specific gravity should be promoted to 1.280(20 deg.C).

ENGINE COOLANT INSPECTION
  • The normal engine coolant (water) temperature is about 85deg.C.
  • Check the replenishment can be made without the engine hood opened, the cap can be removed by turning it counter clockwise.
  • If the coolant level is too low, then the engine could be overheat. Check from the water temperature gauge. Daily check recommended.
  • Replenish the coolant up to the level of 30-50mm below the top of the cap. When the engine is warm, care must be taken in removing the cap, be sure to loosen the cap lightly at first to allow the pressure relieve and remove it only after the pressure.
  • In the radiator has been lowered. In order to prevent rust in the radiator, the coolant should be a mixture with 70 % ~ 50% cleaning water and 30%-50% rust inhibitor. The percentage of rust inhibitor depends on the temperature of the region where the trucks are operated.
